A focused Digital PR campaign to help the renewable energy giant promote their sports partnerships
Renewable energy provider Planet U Energy work with a number of sports teams, providing partnerships and sponsorship, including Leeds Rhinos and Bury FC.
The company had never capitalised on these relationships from a digital pr perspective and decided that they wanted to get a process in place for the promotion of future partnerships, in order to help build brand awareness and support their new website launch.
We began by working to secure coverage from previous partnerships, such as those with Bury FC and Leeds Rhinos, as this would give a platform to show Planet U Energy’s internal teams the framework for creating press relationships and earning coverage.
From this, we then compiled and delivered a half day workshop to Planet U Energy that set the groundwork for future partnership discussions to include media coverage and promotion for both parties. This gives the company an angle over their competitors.
PR Partnership Training
We were able to achieve a number of placements for Planet U Energy, promoting partnerships with sports clubs. These placements were within the sports team websites themselves, as well as local press and business press. This has led to five new contracts (over five figures value each) for the company.
We also held a workshop for Planet U Energy’s internal commercial and communication teams to help them understand the importance of digital pr, how to gain coverage for the company and how to work this into future partnership pitches.
